Health literacy awareness Online
Overview:
To provide participants with an understanding of the impact poor health literacy can have on our patients, how to start addressing these issues and the challenges of engaging with patients with poor health literacy skills.
This session is offered both in-person and online via MS Teams.
Target audience:
All Barts Health NHS Trust staff who provide health information to patients and carers or has a responsibility around planning and shaping population health services or reducing health inequalities.
Requirements:
Participants are require to be a member of the library. Please register with the library here.
Learning objectives:
By the end of this session, you will:
- Understand what health literacy is and its relevance to professional practice
- Be aware of the impact of limited health literacy on individuals' health and well-being
- Recognise a variety of tools and resources that can be utilised to support individuals with limited health literacy and to promote health literacy in practical settings
